Springtrap

The fastest Killer in the game. Built for aggression, punishes every mistake, dominates enclosed maps.

Ability 01

Lunge Strike

CD: 12s

Springtrap dashes forward in a straight line, covering roughly 3 tile-lengths in under 0.4 seconds. Any Survivor caught in the path takes full damage and is briefly stunned. The lunge ignores obstacles and can pass through dropped pallets.

// TIPS

  • Use Lunge Strike around corners — activate it just before rounding a bend to catch Survivors who think they've escaped.
  • The lunge passes through dropped pallets. Bait Survivors into dropping a pallet, then lunge through it immediately.
  • Combine with Shadow Step: go invisible, close the gap to 10 feet, then lunge for an almost unavoidable hit.
Ability 02

Shadow Step

CD: 20s

Springtrap briefly phases into a semi-transparent state, reducing his visibility to Survivors by 80% for 3 seconds. Movement speed increases by 15% during Shadow Step. Any action (attacking, vaulting) immediately ends the effect.

// TIPS

  • Use Shadow Step when a Survivor has line-of-sight on you from a distance — they'll lose track of your position and make a wrong turn.
  • Don't activate Shadow Step mid-chase. It's most powerful when approaching from across the map before a chase begins.
  • The 15% speed boost stacks with natural sprint. Use it to reposition to a new area of the map after a failed chase.

Early Game

Start by patrolling the map's central corridor. Springtrap's speed means you can cover the entire map in under 30 seconds. Identify which generators Survivors are rushing and apply pressure early. Don't commit to a chase in the first 60 seconds — map presence is more valuable than early kills.

Mid Game

Once you've identified the Survivor team composition, start using Shadow Step to approach generators silently. The goal is to interrupt repairs, not necessarily to get kills. Every interrupted generator buys you time. Save Lunge Strike for Survivors who are near walls or in corridors — open areas reduce its effectiveness.

Late Game

With 1-2 generators remaining, switch to a camping strategy near the most likely exit gates. Springtrap's speed makes him the best Killer for last-second catches. If a Survivor is hooked, use Shadow Step to approach the hook invisibly and punish any rescue attempt.

The Pizzeria

S Tier

Tight corridors and multiple dead ends make this Springtrap's ideal hunting ground. Lunge Strike is nearly unavoidable in the kitchen and back rooms.

The Warehouse

A Tier

Good performance. The shelf corridors favor Lunge Strike, but the large open central area gives Survivors room to dodge. Strong overall pick.

The Forest

C Tier

Weakest map for Springtrap. Open terrain reduces Lunge effectiveness significantly. Survivors can easily dodge with directional changes. Avoid if possible.

01

Always sprint toward the center of the map at match start — don't go to generators immediately.

02

Lunge Strike resets its cooldown on a successful hit. Chain hits in a corridor for maximum pressure.

03

The heartbeat terror radius is 32m. Survivors outside this range won't hear you coming — use it for ambushes.

04

Shadow Step + Lunge is your combo. Practice the timing until it's muscle memory.

05

Against a Medic-heavy team, focus on downing the same Survivor twice — exhaust their healing resources.

06

Dropped pallets don't stop your Lunge. Many Survivors don't know this — use it to break their habits.

07

On Warehouse, use the shelving rows as natural corridors to funnel Survivors into Lunge range.

08

If a Survivor is running toward an exit gate, Shadow Step and cut them off — your speed makes this viable even late.
