TheMimic

It wears your face. The Mimic turns trust into a weapon — the most psychologically devastating Killer in the game.

Ability 01

Copy Cat

CD: 18s

The Mimic analyzes a nearby Survivor within 15 meters and copies their exact movement animation for 5 seconds. During this window, The Mimic appears identical to that Survivor on other players' screens — same skin, same movement, same nameplate. Any attack or ability use immediately breaks the disguise.

// TIPS

  • Only activate Copy Cat when you're within 15m of your target Survivor — the disguise copies the closest one. Choose a Survivor who is isolated from their team.
  • Walk, don't sprint, while disguised. Sprinting at a Survivor while looking like their teammate is the fastest way to break their trust permanently.
  • The disguise works on ALL Survivors simultaneously. Use it near a group to create maximum confusion — they'll waste time arguing about who is real.
  • Time Copy Cat for when a Survivor is about to be rescued from a hook. Approach as their teammate, then strike the rescuer instead.
Ability 02

False Signal

CD: 30s

The Mimic broadcasts a fake objective completion sound from a chosen location on the map. Survivors within 40 meters hear what sounds like a generator being repaired or a door being opened. The false signal lasts 2 seconds and has no visual indicator — purely audio deception.

// TIPS

  • Use False Signal to pull Survivors away from their actual objectives. Trigger it near an already-completed generator to send them running to a dead end.
  • Combine with Copy Cat: trigger False Signal on one side of the map, then activate Copy Cat on the other side. Split the team's attention before striking.
  • Experienced Survivors will eventually learn to ignore False Signal. Mix in real objective sounds by actually approaching generators to keep them guessing.

Early Game

Resist the urge to engage immediately. The Mimic's power comes from information — spend the first 90 seconds observing Survivor positions and identifying their team composition. Note which Survivor is the Medic. They are your primary Copy Cat target: disguising as the Medic creates the most dangerous false trust scenario.

Mid Game

Begin deploying False Signal to disrupt generator progress. Target generators that are 50-75% complete — Survivors will abandon them to investigate the false sound, resetting their progress window. Once you've used False Signal, close the distance to a lone Survivor and activate Copy Cat. Your goal is not to kill — it's to make every Survivor doubt every other Survivor.

Late Game

With 1-2 generators remaining, the psychological damage is done. Survivors are communicating less and trusting each other less. Use Copy Cat near exit gates to intercept escape attempts — a Survivor who hesitates at the gate because they're unsure if you're their teammate is a Survivor who doesn't escape. False Signal near the exit gate is your final trap.

The Warehouse

S Tier

The Warehouse's poor lighting and tight shelf corridors make Copy Cat almost undetectable. Survivors can't visually confirm identity until it's too late. Best map for The Mimic by a significant margin.

The Pizzeria

B Tier

Moderate performance. The bright lighting makes the Copy Cat shimmer slightly more visible, but the complex layout creates enough confusion to compensate. False Signal is highly effective here.

The Forest

A Tier

Surprisingly strong. The open terrain means Survivors are more spread out and isolated — perfect Copy Cat conditions. False Signal echoes across the map, making it harder to locate the source.

01

Never activate Copy Cat while sprinting — the speed difference is a dead giveaway. Match the target Survivor's exact movement pace.

02

False Signal has a 30s cooldown. Use it deliberately, not reactively. Plan your deception 30 seconds ahead.

03

The Mimic's terror radius is only 24m — 8m smaller than Springtrap's. Use this to get closer before Survivors hear you coming.

04

Copy Cat copies the Survivor's current skin. If the Survivor has a rare skin, other players will notice the duplicate immediately. Target common-skin Survivors.

05

False Signal near the exit gate in the final minute is your highest-value use of the ability. Hesitation at the gate costs Survivors the game.

06

Against a Security Guard, their cameras can detect Copy Cat if they're watching closely. Prioritize downing the Security Guard early.

07

The Mimic has 400 HP — 50 more than Springtrap. You can absorb a Fighter's Parry and survive. Use this to bait out Parry attempts.

08

In the final 60 seconds, stop using Copy Cat and play aggressively. The psychological damage is done — now convert it into eliminations.
